Our Story
Happy Interior Painting Co. LLC was created in early 2020 when Simon was laid off from a career in tech sales due to a corporate buyout amid COVID uncertainty. This new chapter not only symbolized a farewell to the dull corporate workplace, but a mission to pursue genuine happiness- happiness for Simon, happiness for our clients, and happiness for our employees.
With a strong background in painting, creative design, marketing and sales, Simon launched a local painting company brand without hesitation. Painting has always been a passion, and this was his key to freedom. David was added to the team shortly thereafter and brought in decades of experience with advanced product knowledge and techniques. Together the two worked in tandem to fine-tune work processes and test various products to eventually come up with the Happy formula that is used on every home today. Together they have built a very positive work culture and a rock solid reputation for Happy Interior Painting Co. LLC.
Recently Happy Interior Painting has welcomed four new specialists to the team, including Erica for fine art murals, Isaac for tilework, Desean for fine finish cabinetwork, and Theresa as an expert color consultant. Together, we strive to deliver the happiest interiors in Southern Maine.

Owner and operator. Devoted husband and father of three. Bachelor's degree in Marketing and Business Management. Illustrator and graphic design artist. 18 years painting experience. 12 years sales/marketing and business management experience. Enjoys A24 films, Magic the Gathering, cooking, and anything creative.
David Shuster
Prismatic Overlord, Vizier of Bristle & Blade
Foreman and paint/drywall specialist. Father of five. Featured in a Hulu series. Actor, masseur, improv comedian, and gamer. 25 years painting experience. Enjoys anything from the Fallout franchise, RPG's, cooking for large gatherings, and speaking in different accents.
Isaac Caron
Geomancer of Stone
Tilework specialist. Artist, lover of music, one with nature. 4 years tile experience, 5 years maintenance/renovation. Enjoys singing the Smiths (probably too loud), admiring the sunset, and always open for a good laugh.
Erica Sedler
High Sorceress of Murals
Fine artist and mural specialist. Mother of one (dog). Ex-corporate finance woman turned full-time, self taught artist.Will follow Billy Strings to the end of the Earth and dance in a way that will make you wonder if she is okay (She is very much so). Lover of animals and nature... and humans. Deeply passionate about making art.
Theresa Bouchard
The Color Whisperer
Professional interior designer and color consultant, and wrangler of hues and moods with an uncanny ability to know when a space needs just one better shade. Former corporate medical device director who escaped to follow her true calling—creating beautiful things through color and design. Proud mom to Lily, a 75-pound Goldendoodle.. Lover of animals, nature, humans, life, and world peace (preferably in a cohesive palette).
Desean Cromwell
Aeromancer of Gilded Cabinetry
Professional cabinet and paint sprayer. 7 years experience. Young and motivated. On the court coaching basketball to our youth and spending time with friends and family when he's not wielding an airless sprayer.
